So.... Let's start this journey off right.
So far I have done absolutely nothing needed to be done towards living the healthy lifestyle I've been talking about. It's OBVIOUSLY easier to mentally work out, why can't that work? The amount of time I have sat my big ass on my couch and thought about what workouts I'd like to do (Mentally of course, not actually lol!) I could be at my IDEAL weight by now. Yea, if only. I know you have to work for everything you want in life. The kicker of this is when it comes to ANY emotional ordeal, any issue or circumstance I must work towards getting through or attaining something I'm on it - wanna get the fat girl to sweat? Not unless it's for an orgasm!
Now that all my negative thinking is out the door at the start, I want to point out that being healthy is something you have to work for.. I have no delusions about my situation. I am where I am because I like chocolate cake and being sedentary. But those days are over (
poor cake :( ) I have made the choice to put the effort in to get to a weight I am comfortable with, but most of all to be healthier. To have more energy for my kids, to feel better, to leave the constant fatigue from carrying around more weight than I should and have energy again. Time to take action!
This morning I woke up earlier than I ever usually do JUST to work out. I didn't make it far only a 10 minute workout broken down like this:
-Headed outside with all the ambitions of jogging/power walking for 10 minutes. First time? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Made it 3 minutes, alternating between jogging and power walking before I was finally like OH HELL NO!
but I didn't give up
-Came inside and lifted my 3lb weights in several different ways for about 10 reps each... enough until my arms started to feel like they were shooting flames up my arm.
- After that I did some crunches (no I didn't count, I just DID.)
- Then I did some light stretching and what have you.
In all my morning 'workout' was about 15 minutes long.. It's not much but when you're used to doing NOTHING it's better than that ;)
I plan on getting my workouts much more organized. Right now I'm more interested in shocking my body at the fact that I'm doing it at all!!
Another great thing I did this morning was drinking an entire 16.9oz of water before even having my coffee.. WHAT?
Anyone who knows me knows I LOVEEEEEEEE, times a thousand, my coffee.. But I'd be completely lying if I didn't admit that on my last go 'round with this journey.. Drinking water alone helped me feel more energetic, flushed out my system. The effects of water are outstanding! I just usually dislike the plain taste of it unless I'm dying I.E. workouts.
Weighed in this morning at
299.8 lbs.
Under normal circumstances I would be cringing at this # & I am in a way - but I've whooped it's ass before and I will do it again. I just need to keep my focus.
Taking body measurements and updating them this morning as well..
Goals to start my journey:
Daily water intake goal - Currently starting at mostly 0, upping it to AT LEAST 33.8 oz a day which is equal to two bottles of water, a person SHOULD drink 64 oz a day but if I start at that my body will have nothing to look forward to :)
Begin tracking my calories, this I going to be one of the hardest things, I have 2 food journals and I always just end up forgetting to use them, I need to staple one to my side. If anyone reads this and sees this, please send random texts to remind me to be tracking at any time of the day!!
Set up a workout plan suited to my level, level 0 anyone??!
Collect healthy dinner recipes for the family.
One of my issues is that I assume since I am the one that needs to loose weight I am the only one who should eat healthy, I've changed that thinking. I enjoy eating for dinner whatever I have cooked and am feeding my boyfriend and my children, and I sure ain't cooking 2 meals! So I need to start a collection of healthy meals to start trying and saving the ones we all like!
My logic may be flawed but again, AT LEAST I'M WORKING AT IT. So anyone who doubts me can kiss my booty and any one who thinks I'm 'doing it all wrong' can suck an egg. Every person is different and adapts differently to changes in their life.. it is up to us all to find our way and I intend to find mine one way or another, to a healthier happier Erica!
This is my start, my ode to a better me!
Starting today....
